January's Biggest Wins

2023 has begun and the wins are rolling in! We’re taking a look at some of the games that have produced the biggest results for lucky players this January.

So far, the top win tables are dominated by slots from Hacksaw Gaming, holding the top spot for monetary wins with Alpha Eagle while their Old West-themed extravaganza Wanted Dead or a Wild makes very strong showings on the tables for both top monetary and multiplier wins.

Meanwhile Big Bamboo from Push Gaming tops the rankings for multiplier wins, with the same win edging its way into the top ten monetary wins at number nine despite a low starting bet on that magnificent spin.

Top 10 Monetary Wins

Alpha Eagle

This eagle landed in September last year and last month saw one lucky player feather their nest with a soaring €75,000 from a €10 bet. This same win makes it to number seven on our table of top multiplier wins.

The game is highly volatile and boasts several bonus features - which can send the player’s fortunes ascending to mountainous heights in an instant - in the forms of Stack’N’Sync, Golden Stack’N’Sync, free spins, as you would expect, and the unique Eagle Link bonus round.

The Stack’N’Sync feature will be familiar to anyone who has played Hacksaw’s earlier title Buffalo Stack’N’Sync, for those who haven’t it throws massive stacks of the same symbol onto one or multiple reels, while the superior Golden Stack’N’Sync limits the symbols to only high-payers and wilds while applying a multiplier on top.

The loftiest bonus feature though is the Eagle Link bonus round. Consisting of two phases, it begins with three refilling spins during which a sticky golden eagle symbol always lands first, followed by more eagle symbols - either standard or golden - and valueless symbols. When another eagle symbol lands adjacent to a golden eagle either vertically or horizontally, it links and also becomes sticky. Once these refilling spins are up, any sticky eagles on the board remain in place for the next phase where three more spins take place with additional golden eagles becoming sticky and adding to the win multiplier.

Wanted Dead or a Wild

Dominating the rankings for biggest monetary wins with six of the ten top spots, Wanted Dead or a Wild has been responsible for an absolute goldrush of big wins over the last month, with the biggest bounty being a €51,000 reward off the back of a €10 bet.

The game has three bonus rounds in the chamber to make players dance, triggered by the appearances of three distinct varieties of scatter symbol. The first is the Duel at Dawn feature, in which ten free spins take place with extra VS symbols thrown into the mix. VS symbols can also appear in the base game and when they do, they cover all positions on their reel and turn wild, before two gunslingers fight it out to determine which of two multipliers will be applied to any subsequent wins.

Next up is The Great Train Robbery feature, which keeps things simple with ten free spins and sticky wilds.

Lastly, there’s the Dead Man’s Hand bonus, which takes place in two phases, similar to the Eagle Link bonus round from Alpha Eagle. First, three refilling spins let you build up a collection of wilds and +1 multipliers that will then apply to the second phase where the prizes are awarded.

Rip City

Another from Hacksaw Gaming, Rip City sees the old enemies, cats and mice, pitted against each other in a grimy back-alley brawl with two generous bonus rounds where the cat has a lot to offer but the rodent really reigns supreme.

The wild cat symbol is the key to big wins, landing as a 1x1 symbol but expanding to cover all lower positions on the reel by dropping its jaw in classic cartoony fashion if it would form part of a win. There are also standard wild symbols, which grant wild cat symbols a random multiplier if the wild cat expands through them.

The Ro$$ Bonus - that’s the cat - is triggered by three scatter symbols, awarding 10 free spins with a higher chance of landing expanding cats. Three more scatters landing will grant +4 spins to keep the round rolling, while four more scatters will cause the Maxx Bonus to trigger once the spins are complete, as well as setting your current free spins back to ten.

The Maxx Bonus can be triggered in the base game and in the Ro$$ Bonus round - as already mentioned - by four scatter symbols. Top 10 Multiplier Wins

Big Bamboo

This dense bamboo forest doesn’t offer up its secrets easily but when it does, it can clearly leave the persistent player a very happy panda indeed as is evident from the x28,624.7 multiplier win that sees it top the chart this month. This win also makes an appearance at number nine on our table of top monetary wins, despite its modest bet size of €0.50.

The Mystery Bamboo symbol reveals pay symbols, including wild and Golden Bamboo symbols. When Golden Bamboo symbols are revealed, each of them spins individually to award one of the following:

• An instant prize, worth up to 5,000x the bet.
• A collector symbol, which gathers the values of all instant prizes and other collector symbols on the grid. The collector symbol remains in position for the rest of the Golden Bamboo feature while empty positions spin.
• A multiplier symbol between x2 and x10 which is applied to instant prize and collector symbols.

Scatter symbols and gamble scatter symbols can also appear either in the base game or be revealed by Golden Bamboo symbols. Gamble scatter symbols can be blank or produce 4 to 9 free spins, or 7 to 10 free spins with low-paying symbols converted to Mystery Bamboo symbols. Dead or Alive 2

The game offers up multiplier wild gift boxes, ranging from x2 to x200, and accumulating when more than one lands. Landing three triggers the Gift Bonanza bonus game, which consists of three refilling spins wherein the gift boxes become sticky, potentially building up a tantalising stack of multipliers.

The tallest of the three clowns that feature in the game, Lenny, serves as the scatter symbol.
